Day One

Today is the first day of the best of my life. A little over three weeks ago, I got the call that most people dread. My job was being eliminated; I would officially be unemployed by the end of the month. After the appropriate amount of time grieving (see picture below), I realized that this was possibly the best thing that had happened to me in some time.

Since that time, I have decided that the perfect way to spend my new found free time is to travel, see friends and figure out what is most important to me in life. As a result, over the next two months, I will be visiting my family in the mountains of North Carolina, spending quality time on the beaches of California, traveling to Australia for the trip of a lifetime, taking part in the wedding of my best friend and returning to my hometown for time with friends. After that, who knows? What I do know is that great things are to come!
